Paloma Herrera

We sat in silence as the mesmerizing echoes of the bikers popping wheelies faded into the reflected nightscape

ORR Space is pleased to announce “We sat in silence as the mesmerizing echoes of the bikers popping wheelies faded into the reflected nightscape,” a solo exhibition by Paloma Herrera in collaboration with FF Project of San Pedro/Los Angeles.

For some time now, the artist’s work has been centered on the use of language as a medium to construct subtle balances and evocations around her creations.

The exhibition is located in two venues: our space in central Brescia and the Camera Project room. The only works on display are vinyl texts applied to the white walls of the respective spaces.

The artist explores the intersections of fleeting moments and the lasting impressions they leave behind. Drawing on her own experiences and observations, Paloma delves into the serendipity of life’s unexpected convergences and the narratives that arise from them.

In “Description, We will never be here again,” Paloma touches on the ephemeral nature of experiences, memories, and places. The vinyl text, in its impermanent nature, symbolizes the transient moments of our lives, prompting viewers to reflect on their own fleeting memories and the weight they carry.

In an other work, “An instant in which two seemingly unfamiliar events coincide” the artist takes a deeper look into the concept of synchronicity. The work emphasizes the surprising connections that can be drawn between unrelated events and how they can be united in a single shared moment. Paloma plays with the idea that nothing happens in isolation and that seemingly disparate events can intersect, creating a new, unified meaning.

Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to immerse themselves in Paloma’s world, letting the words on the walls resonate with their own experiences. Through this interactive experience, the boundaries between the artist’s intentions and the viewers’ interpretations become blurred, leading to a richer understanding of the power of language and shared human experiences.
